Friday, Sept. 4: What are you passionate about?

This is such a great follow up to yesterday's post! I showed you the pictures and now I can tell you a little about them! 

Here in my little corner, you will find the things I'm PASSIONATE about!!!

My Faith- it is real. It is messy. It is the greatest part of my life. I did not grow up with it. I found it at the age of 23. Or I should say, I finally submitted to a Father who was pursuing me! Nothing about my life has been the same since.  Living for the One True God is the only way to truly live. Everything is better when God is the glue that holds it together. 

My Marriage- I have been married for 16 months to one of Christ's most devoted followers.  Marriage is hard. But when God is as passionate about something as He is marriage, you Know it's worth fighting for! Serving the Kingdom alongside Brett is the most exciting way I could think of doing it.  Growing as a wife makes me grow as a Christian. 

Serving.Loving. - Thinking of the Love that Christ lavished upon me, makes me want to live every moment paying it forward. Unfortunately I fall incredibly short, but serving Gods people lights my soul on fire. Missions. Child Sponsorship. Fair trade. Youth Ministry - These are just a few ways I love to get involved.  Please click around to learn more about a few of these things!!!

So, I thought this list would be longer, but actually the many many things that come to mind, all fit into these three topics!  Stick around and I will follow up with some details about a few of them!!!

Day 4 (I made it 4 whole days, this may have an even greater impact beyond 30 days, b/c now I have a growing list of things I want to write about!!!) oh where was I, oh Yes, DAY 4 of Blog-tember is in the books!!! I'm so happy to be sharing my heart with all who are here!

Wednesday, Sept. 2: Describe your ideal day. Where would you go and what would you do?

this, ya i'm not very good at this.  I'm too much of a dreamer to have a plan when the possibilities are endless...

But if I had to start somewhere I would start by saying it would last more than 24 hrs.  I don't know how many, just "more." Maybe it wouldn't have a set time limit, but when I get done with whatever is on my mind, then and only then would it end.

the ideal day would definitely include:

~Waffles
~A clean house
~Community Worship
~Kids (anybody's)
~Some form of creating
~Reading     {or I could just spend ALL day reading-there is a very good thought}
~Continue reading on a flight to somewhere in the world where I can help someone
         {see where I was going with the  >24hr request}
~Baking
~Sharing product of said baking with Friends
~A date with the Mr {outdoors, under the stars, with a blanket, and NO bugs}

none of the following would be involved:

~Alarm Clock
~Time Clock
~Cleaning
~Calorie Guilt
~News (noon, 5, 10 or anytime)


I'm sure throughout the day, more and more would be added!

Truth is, as soon as each day involves 1) Jesus + 2) Love,  it is perfect.  However, each chance to spread a little of either around, should not be passed up!

For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere.   Psalm 84:10

August Recap

1. SEND conference: Brett and I were so blessed to be able to attend the SEND conference in Nashville the beginning of August.  We were challenged by hearing the Word taught and preached through great speakers such as Louie Giglio, Vance Pitman, JD Greear, and David Platt to name just a few.  We lifted our voices in praise led by the Holy Spirit ushered in by Kristian Stanfill & Passion Band, Crowder, Casting Crowns, & Shane and Shane.  We came home encouraged, and better equipped to live "Life on Mission."

2. Watermelon Festival:  Our small town is know for the sweetest watermelons; which of course means: watermelon festival.  This year our church got involved and we spent 3 days selling cheese, chili, chips, and LOTS of Ice Tea!!!  The booth was hard work, but I hope I never forget the full heart I had at the end of each night after fellowship with so many dear friends who are sold out for the Kingdom.  I remember going home in tears because I felt so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful group of brothers and sisters in Christ.

3.  A big step in the Non-Profit world.  We Arise Missions held the first official board meeting and is now one step closer to being a 501(c)3 Non-Profit.

4.  We bought a new-to-us vehicle.  After 2 weeks of covering this decision in prayer we purchased a 2011 Honda Pilot.  (there is a really good God-story to this that hopefully I'll write about)

5.  Brett and I become Official coordinators for an Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Drop-off location!!! We are soooo excited to further our involvement with this ministry!

6. A one night retreat with 8 teenagers.  It is such a huge blessing to see young people get involved and excited about what God is doing and wants to do in their lives!

I can't help but look at this crazy busy life and wonder why I was blessed with it, but I'm so glad I was!  August was pretty full, but as summer ends and fall begins, the calendar stays jam-packed!

Coming up in September: Brett's birthday, 2 Baby Showers, Donuts, Community Revival, and a short Ladies Getaway!!! Don't miss it!!!

I LOVE reading blogs more than I like writing...but it takes some diligence to find good ones!
I like reading lifestyle.
-Hearing (aka reading in blog-land) about those everyday encounters with God.
-Seeing those seemingly meaningless recipes you brought to existence today and seeing the joy they brought to your world!
-Learning out to perfect that wreath I have been seeing around!
-Reading how the very trial I am suffering today, made you stronger yesterday!

& I hope that these are some of the very things I can ad to your day!

Are we praying for our husbands as much as we are talking about Anna's!?

It seems that as Christians it is assumed that we have some kind of "response" to the recent "scandals" involving Josh Duggar and/or the Ashley Madison hack. (I thought this was the name of the "other" woman when I first heard of it) To be honest, it seems that most do.  The conversations, blog posts, and news prove that a lot of people do have something to say.  

What if we didn't stop talking about the subject, but rather changed our audience? I think that the recent developments are a call to action.   

What if we took all of our thoughts and compiled them into prayers?

When we think...

How could he do that...pray for him, his temptations and his repentance

His poor family...pray for their hearts to be healed and filled with forgiveness

How many others are in the same situation...pray for our nation to be guarded from the evils of satan

These have all been fairly common suggestions.  But have we missed something? Why do we wait until recovery phase before we on the outside take action.  

Wives, are we praying prevention over our own husbands? 

Are we covering their minds, their hearts, and desires in prayers!?

A lot of things probably come to mind when think of taking action against these very circumstances coming into our own homes.  But the most important and effective line of defense we can take is hitting our knees! 

Prayer changes EVERYTHING! 

Wives, will you join me in knee bruising prayer for our husbands, and our marriages!? 

The devil is a thief and a liar, but we know The One who has already defeated him! 

It's not about God waiting on us to ask him to do something, it's about us surrounding our hearts, minds, and souls with the Power of The Spirit!!!

"Lord, bless my husband’s sexuality and make it an area of great fulfillment for him. Restore what needs to be restored, balance what needs to be balanced. Protect us from apathy, disappointment, criticism, busyness, unforgiveness, deadness, or disinterest. I pray that we make time for one another, communicate our true feelings openly, and remain sensitive to what each other needs. Keep us sexually pure in mind and body, and close the door to anything lustful or illicit that seeks to encroach upon us. Deliver us from the bondage of past mistakes. Landlocked and Lacking: Praying for Bolivia

Following recently introducing you to Alvaro, I would like for you to join me in praying for Bolivia!  An area the size of California and Texas combined, landlocked in South America, Bolivia is home to almost 10.5 million people. 

"Bolivia ranks at or near the bottom among Latin American countries in several areas of health and development, including poverty, education, fertility, malnutrition, mortality, and life expectancy. On the positive side, more children are being vaccinated and more pregnant women are getting prenatal care and having skilled health practitioners attend their births. Bolivia's income inequality is the highest in Latin America and one of the highest in the world. Public education is of poor quality, and educational opportunities are among the most unevenly distributed in Latin America, with girls and indigenous and rural children less likely to be literate or to complete primary school. The lack of access to education and family planning services helps to sustain Bolivia's high fertility rate - approximately three children per woman. Bolivia's lack of clean water and basic sanitation, especially in rural areas, contributes to health problems." - The World Factbook
